I've noticed that the amount of current going to the connected USB port has significantly decreased. Though my IPhone recognizes the connection and indicates that it is being charged, the battery power never actually increases. I verified this by connecting my phone to the USB port found in the center console. Using that USB port, my phone actually charges. Is this a known issue? And is there a way to remedy this so that the USB port can be used?
John,
Have you tried connecting direclty into one of your Hamilton USB ports (not through that USB extension)?
Finally had time to test power directly from the harness. Same result. After 20 min being connected directly to the harness my phone battery held steady, but never increased. Unless there's a setting I missed, there just doesn't seem to be adequate power supplied from the head unit to the harness. Any other suggestions? Do you think it's a harness issue? Or a head issue?
