Phone audio, other quirks and OTA

  • Hi,

I installed a Android auto conversion kit in my wife's 2016 4Runner, and so far it is awesome!  There are a few quirks I wanted to ask about.

First, the received phone audio sounds distorted or clipped, like it's being over driven regardless of the system audio level.  It does not match the system audio level and when a call comes in I have to increase it and then bring it back down after the call when media resumes.  Is there a setting to adjust the phone audio and normalize it to the system audio?

Second, occasionally I see the volume level indicator appear while driving even though I never touched the knob or steering wheel controls.  Also, there have been a couple of instances while driving when the interior lights came on and off randomly, and the TPM indicator has goes a little wonky.  I'm thinking erroneous CAN messages.  Anyone else see this?  Any known issues?

Third, my wife said when she plays a text message on Android auto and then replies and tries to dictate the message, the system audio immediately starts playing when it's supposed to be listening to her dictation.  Is this a known issue?

Finally, does the SIM work now, and what is the password to enter factory settings and does OTA update work?  Current version is:

    Thanks!
