The 2009-2024 Toyota 4Runner Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit has wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a premium Hamilton interface available outside of CarPlay that allows you to load apps directly onto the unit.
Using the Hamilton Connect Program, you can activate an optional 4G SIM card included in your order for a monthly fee to have a native data connection directly on the unit. This allows the device to operate like a Tesla or the other new vehicles on the market where you can use the features without your phone present in the car. It is completely optional. You can also connect your phone's hotspot to the unit when you are not using CarPlay or Android Auto to have a data connection on the device.

This head unit upgrade kit is definitely a bit harder to install than our other head unit for the 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner, the 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner Apple Carplay Conversion Kit. That being said, it is still pretty straightforward to DIY this kit and we include a full installation video with purchase. An install usually takes about 2-4 hours.

Yes. This kit is designed to completely update the look and feel of your 2009-2024 Toyota 4Runner dash to look like the brand new 6th Generation Toyota 4Runner (model year 2025+). Our head unit completely fits in place of your current head unit and has everything needed to update your dash to the newest look.
We also include some pieces that re-reroute your air vents to be under the brand new 13.1 inch screen. These plastic pieces easily fit behind your head unit, and our installation video explains the process in detail.
Because our system replaces portions of the factory head unit, a few normal behavior changes apply:
All 2009-2024 4Runners
- Radio: FM and AM radios are retained. The factory head unit is completely replaced. This means the XM tuner is no longer available; SiriusXM is accessed through the SiriusXM app on your phone or on the Conversion Kit via LTE/CarPlay.
- Maintenance: Dash service reminders continue to work, but Toyota’s Entune Logbook program is no longer available.
- Dash Compass: If your 4Runner displays a compass in the cluster, it originates from the original head unit. Removing that unit removes the compass.
- Elimination (as shown in video) of the original clock/temperature display. If you would like to keep this factory digital clock screen, consider our 2009-2013 or 2014-2019 Hamilton Conversion Kit.

2009-2013 Models Only
- Installation follows our 2014-2019 video; simply use the connectors labeled “2009–2013.” There is not a specific video for the 2009-213 but installation is nearly identical to 2014-2019.
- Factory USB ports are not powered on the 2009-2013 4Runner. New Hamilton USB leads are provided for routing to your glovebox or another location.
- Many but not all factory microphones on 2009-2013 4Runners are compatible with the Hamilton Conversion Kit. If needed, a quality Hamilton external microphone is included. All 2014-2024 versions support the factory microphone.
2020-2024 Models Only
- Hazard light activation/cancellation uses a double press instead of a single press.
- OEM 360° cameras continue to work and can be manually triggered with the camera button or automatically in high-range when enabled. They do not auto-display in low range. Select “OEM 360 Cameras” at checkout so we configure your order correctly.

Works way better than the stock unit. The Toyota unit never worked with my phone. Never connected and randomly would play Apple Music even when the app was completely closed.
This unit is AMAZING! Customer Service is on point! Install looks intimidating but is straightforward. Unit worked on the first try. Absolutely amazed that after all these years I found a unit that works flawlessly!!! Highly recommend to anyone with an older 4runner.
Very easy install. Only thing I could think of is putting the needed parts together. Two bags of wires/connectors. One labeled "2014-2019" then one labeled "2020-2024". I found that there were universal wires/ connectors in the 2014-2019 bag. I only wished they would put it all together in one bag knowing the buyers car info. Other than that it was a 3 hour install. Unit is solid and operates well!
Very impressed with the unit, and all things considering easy to install.
Very happy with my purchase. It took me around 2 hours to install on my 2023 ORP. The hardest part is shoving all the cables back in and snapping the unit into place. There was one connector I had to route under the center cross beam before I could get the unit snapped in. Wireless AND wired Android Auto works flawlessly. In addition to being able to use the factory USB for wired Android auto, the device adds two additional USB ports. When using wired Android Auto, you can also tether the hamilton to your phone's data connection, eliminating the need for a subscription SIM card. When using Wireless Android Auto, it forces off the WiFi for some reason so you can tether at the same time. Highly recommended for any 4Runner owners looking for a big tech upgrade.
I bought this as a Father’s Day gift for my husband and it provided a major facelift to his 2019 4Runner. It elevated his old car! He was surprised with this gift and told me this was the cream of the crop!
Him and his buddy put it together following the paper and video instructions. They managed to get it done in under an hour (from removing the old one and installing the new one). Worth every penny!
P.S. I accidentally ordered the wrong color and they expeditiously replied to my error and made sure the right unit was sent. Like everyone says their customer service is superb and fast delivery! Lived up to being top notch!
This is an excellent upgrade, easily installed, and really works well so far. The only reason why I’m not giving 5 stars is because there are lots of menus and features that are native to their software. If you were to install and add an active SIM card, I think that would be resolved. I don’t want an additional data plan and monthly fee, so I’m not doing that. Otherwise, this is an outstanding unit, for half the price of the nearest competitor. By the way, the Alpine and pioneer (twice the price) units block the air vents, I love that this unit relocates the vents seamlessly.

I bought this unit for my daughter's 2015 Toyota 4Runner. It completely changed the look and feel of the interior. She now has Apple CarPlay that connects seamlessly, and there was no loss of clarity when talking with the microphone. I did have it professionally installed, so that was an added cost, but well worth it. The only knock is that it does take a bit to load when starting the car, but my daughter does not mind, so five stars it is!

I’ve installed this a couple weeks ago and still getting comfortable with the operation. One issue I had was the WiFi and Bluetooth cable was extremely short. Only 4-5 inches. Definitely not as long as shown in install video. It made it difficult to connect and secure it properly under the dash. I ended up laying it there and not attaching because of cable length. I’m still working on the sound. Many reviews said it was a much better than stock. I’ve yet to feel that way. I’m still seeing if it is a settings change or not. I will update this later after playing it a while. BTW. This is not my daily driver so don’t use it a lot

Quality, fit and finish is top notch. The system can be finicky to work with at first but after getting a day to figure out how to connect and disconnect apple car play and bluetooth connectivity, it's been smooth sailing. I was very surprised at how much better my stock JBL system sounded with the stock EQ settings on the unit. There is so much more clarity on all the ranges and the bass response is so much smoother. I just wish there was an easier way to hook up the rear view camera that is on the rear view mirror down to the head unit but that is a separate issue in itself. Overall very happy with the unit

The product itself is awesome and impressive. Don’t regret my purchase at all. Only hiccup was the support. I was having issues getting the aftermarket rear camera to trigger when placing the vehicle in reverse. Support wasn’t very helpful and I had to figure it out myself. Other than that Hamilton makes a great product
The unit works amazing. The sound is so much better than the stock JBL radio. The video's make it easy to install in a few hours with no issues at all. Unit works as promised and we are very happy we bought the unit. We highly recommend the stereo and the company.
The first part of my experience was awesome I needed to call Hamilton to get more details on the SIM card and then when I was having it installed there were questions about miscellaneous items, they picked up the phone quickly every time and my installer was amazed that I was able to get them on the phone. So the support is truly awesome. It didn't take the installer long to put in at all the video says 3 to 4 hours mine took literally 90 minutes. The interface is super intuitive and the appearance of this product is top notch I'm so happy with the way it looks in my 4runner the 13-in screen is amazing. The way the product functions and sounds is what I would expect for the price that I paid it was worth every penny. I highly recommend this product and this company.

The installation video was good. I am generally happy with the unit running Android Auto off of my phone in my 2015 4Runner.
The physical layout is good and fit is good. The ability to reprogram the front physical buttons is good, but needs to be expanded.
1) Radio
There no one-button (or touch) to turn off the radio. It takes three actions (swipe down, select icon, swipe up on radio app) requiring you to be looking at the screen, not the road.
This could be corrected with a programmable command to TOGGLE the radio on/off. For me, putting this on the physical Audio key would solve my gripe. Right now I can program a key to turn the radio ON, or mute everything, but not turn the radio OFF. A programmable command to turn the radio OFF does not solve the problem because you would need to dedicate 2 of the 5 switches to the radio. An ON/OFF radio toggle would solve the issue.
On the main Hamilton screen, you show the radio on the left side, but the is no OFF button or 'X'. This would be a good place to have one.
2) Multi-vehicle wiring harness (year ranges)
Bad idea. Whatever it saves you in manfacturing is squandered in customer satisfaction. Having one harness for each range of vehicle would greatly improve the installation experience. All of the extra unused connectors on the harness are in the way and take up valuable room.
3) Tech support
Your tech support is absolutely stellar! 1) They answer prompty 2) They are very knowledgable 3) If they do not know, they find out and get back.
This unit is awesome! It is quick to respond and it fits perfectly. If you are even thinking about getting it. DO IT!!! You won't regret it.
