What prevents this unit from being comparable with a pre 2014 model? I have a 2012 and would much rather upgrade my entire system than being limited to the CarPlay unit.
My current android powered (competitors version) system is awful and I've been holding off on buying the CarPlay unit in hopes this will become an option.
