Factory reset my new Lexus IS head unit...

  • Hi guys!

I was having difficulties setting up Carplay on my new head unit for Lexus IS, and decided to see if a factory reset would help the issue. I believe that I have screwed things up further, as I now have no backup camera. I'm a bit worried and hope I can get some help.

    Thanks!

  • Hey@Sam Mancuso,

Do not worry--nothing is permanent and our team can get your unit fully functional again. We typically do not recommend factory resets and we try to keep it behind a password wall.

Here is our link on how to get CarPlay properly configured. It is important to follow it closely especially the first time:

    https://www.hamiltonmotorcompany.com/community/forum/topic/152695/hamilton-motor-company-lexus-replacement-screens-how-to-setup-automatic-carplay-connection

If you've done a factory reset, we will need to send you a file to re-install CarPlay as well as how to reconfigure your CANBUS for backup camera functionality. Send us an email and we will get this over to you. Sorry for the trouble!

  • I have the same issue, but in my case I did a hard reset through the Android interface. As a result, ZLINK disappeared and all the settings were wiped. I already opened a ticket, but it has been a couple of days and I still cannot restore anything.
