Can I still access my factory Lexus OS with this new screen? How about all factory features?
Yes, with the 2014-2021 Lexus GX Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit, you will maintain access to all original features including your original Lexus OS. At any time, you can easily long-hold the voice speech button for 3-seconds to switch from your Hamilton OS.
This system will also maintain your original backup camera, steering wheel controls, and AM, FM, and XM radio. You will not lose any features with the 2014-2021 Lexus GX Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit
Can I stream with this device?
Yes, you can load external apps onto the device directly from the Google Play store. The Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit has 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, which means it has more than enough power/RAM to handle even complex apps. You can connect the Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit to your phone's hotspot when CarPlay/Android Auto is not being used or you can add a 4G T-Mobile SIM card to the device for an on-board data connection. Hamilton does not encourage using apps while driving.
If I have issues with my factory equipment (screen or radio), can I purchase this device to solve the issue?
Our system does rely on your factory equipment being fully functional. If you believe you may have issues with your factory screen or radio, please contact Hamilton Customer Support before purchasing. Our unit does not replace your original radio. It relies on your original radio for audio/data functionality.
What makes the Hamilton unit special?
Hamilton employees a few of the best engineers in the world in this automotive CANBUS space. CANBUS is the special data protocol that the original vehicle modules use to talk to each other. We have custom designed our own circuit boards for our mainboard and our climate control circuit board. These Hamilton boards are designed with longevity and American-compatibility in mind. Whereas foreign-designed boards can fail over time and cause glitches on American-vehicles, our CANBUS testing and circuit board (PCB) placement/design was done on GX vehicles in Raleigh, NC.
