Here is our brand new 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner Hamilton Upgrade Kit for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We have launched this product for folks who are excited to have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto software features on their 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner but don’t necessarily want to replace their factory screen with one of our new screens.
Our module installs into your 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner and adds a new menu screen that provides both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. At any time, you can simply hold the speech button on your steering wheel for 3 seconds and switch back to your factory main menu. Our kit includes everything you need to complete the install.
When you are using your 4Runner with our 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner Hamilton Upgrade Kit for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it feels like your car shipped from the factory with Apple CarPlay. It is absolutely indistinguishable from the outside and preserves your factory radio and screen.
This system maintains your entire underlying factory menu and all factory functionality. It plays music through your stock head unit and keeps your exact audio quality.
Our 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner Hamilton Upgrade Kit for Apple CarPlay also preserves your factory microphone. For folks who talk on the phone in the car frequently, this is a great option as it is the only product class on the market that preserves your factory microphone in your 2014-2019 4Runner.
You may see that this interface module looks a bit different than some of our others and some of the others you see on the market. Some cheaper companies market a product for 4Runner than simply installs into the factory wiring harness. We have some interface modules that install into the factory wiring harness. However, for certain Lexus/Toyota models (the 4Runner is one of these), you cannot render high-definition images through the factory wiring harness alone. If you install an upgrade interface that only works through the wiring harness, the display will be lower resolution and will have glitches.
Our kit requires you to remove the head unit from the vehicle and physically install it into the factory head unit. We have a complete video on how to do it. It may look a bit tricky but it is not too difficult. Of course, our support team is here to help if you need us by phone or email. This allows our kit to render full-resolution video and a stable experience in your 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner.

On the front of your original radio in the middle on the bottom bit of plastic is a small code in white numbers/letters. If it starts with a "P" you have the rare Pioneer version. If it starts with a number, you have the common Panasonic version.
You can use your factory radio channels and have CarPlay/Android Auto showing on your screen with the Hamilton Upgrade Kits with one important limitation: Please note that the factory radio channels are sealed channels. This means Siri cannot talk through these channels.
When you are streaming audio via CarPlay (e.g. Spotify, Apple Music, Sirius App, etc.), your music and Siri/Navigation will come out of your vehicle speakers mixed together.
However, while using the sealed factory radio channels, you will only be able to hear radio audio. System audio (Siri, navigation sounds, phone calls) cannot be mixed into the factory radio channels.
Note: You will not be able to use the AUX port for any external media devices liked DACs or MP3 players. The Hamilton Upgrade Kit consumes this audio input for CarPlay/Android Auto.
