2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner Hamilton Conversion Kit - SIM/CELLULAR instructions

  • I purchased and installed (myself) the 2014-2019 Toyota 4Runner Hamilton Conversion Kit for CarPlay and Android Auto ... absolutely love it!

I installed the SIM installation cable knowing that eventually i would order a SIM card for onboard cellular service (should my iphone and pixel not be available) ...

i received my SIM card a couple days ago ... seated it into the cradle ... went into the Hamilton Menu screen and found the WiFi area and it says "no SIM installed, please insert a SIM card and restart your device" ...

looking through the hamilton menu, i'm unable to locate how to reboot/restart my headunit ... is this option availalbe?   or would i just have to disconnect the battery, wait for 10min, then reconnect?

  • ok ... i was able to locate the "restart" feature ... its from the hamilton control center (which is brought up by swiping from the top of the headunit screen to down) ... from there, the restart option is present ...

restarted the headunit ... 40 seconds later, it came back online ... and presto, 4G/LTE onboard (no cellphone needed) ... awesome headunit, very happy customer!!

  • I recently installed  the same and have been trying to figure out the SIM card. Did you just get one from your mobile carrier? I can't find a lot of info about it. I appreciate the help!
