This system will also maintain your original backup camera, steering wheel controls, and AM, FM, and XM radio. You will not lose any features with the 2014-2021 Lexus GX Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit
Yes, you can load external apps onto the device directly from the Google Play store. The Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit has 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, which means it has more than enough power/RAM to handle even complex apps. You can connect the Hamilton Premium Conversion Kit to your phone's hotspot when CarPlay/Android Auto is not being used or you can add a 4G T-Mobile SIM card to the device for an on-board data connection. Hamilton does not encourage using apps while driving.
Our system does rely on your factory equipment being fully functional. If you believe you may have issues with your factory screen or radio, please contact Hamilton Customer Support before purchasing. Our unit does not replace your original radio. It relies on your original radio for audio/data functionality.
Hamilton employees a few of the best engineers in the world in this automotive CANBUS space. CANBUS is the special data protocol that the original vehicle modules use to talk to each other. We have custom designed our own circuit boards for our mainboard and our climate control circuit board. These Hamilton boards are designed with longevity and American-compatibility in mind. Whereas foreign-designed boards can fail over time and cause glitches on American-vehicles, our CANBUS testing and circuit board (PCB) placement/design was done on GX vehicles in Raleigh, NC.

We recently purchased a 2021 GX for significantly less than a 2022. The Lexus dealership suggested this particular brand as an infotainment upgrade. Our son upgraded his 2018 4Runner with Hamilton and has been impressed so far as well. We decided to go with the premium kit mainly for the button climate controls. It is so annoying to have to use a screen to adjust the temp and fan speed. The conversion kit solves that! In addition the large upgraded screen not only makes seeing maps easily, it gave the backup camera an upgrade as well. Surprisingly the audio with this kit makes the overall sound better. Packaging and shipping were excellent. If you watch the video first and then follow along during the actual installation, you shouldn't have any issues. The directions on the video are easy to follow. Start to finish it took about an hour and fifteen minutes to install (two of us for careful handling of the screen). In the GX be sure to remove any phones in factory bluetooth and also select factory aux so that you have sound through the speakers while using CarPlay. Super pleased with the functionality and speed of connecting. Definitely recommend the premium upgrade!

I purchased this for my wife’s 2019 GX. I had previously installed the CarPlay interface and she loved it. Once I saw this kit, I had to have it for her. The install was pretty involved but their instructions and video was very thorough and helpful. Once installed it’s a total game changer in form, fit, and function. Hamilton has obviously spent a lot of time building this unit. I couldn’t imagine not having it. It just added 3 years to this GX!!

It is not easy to install, but it sure not hard either. The Hamilton video for installation is very good. The product is quite good. I do wish you could change "phones" while the car is running.... The only real downfall I have found so far.

I ordered my premium upgrade kit on a Friday afternoon and got it Saturday morning (I live near the HQ). Saturday afternoon I installed it and it worked the first time - no issues, not blackout and rewire thanks to the really good YouTube instruction video supplied. I've done several vehicle head unit upgrades and this by far was the easiest. There is a lot to do, and go slow to make sure you cover everything, but it was an easy process. Great product, completely transforms the look of my 2017 GX dash to something modern. Friends comment how OEM it looks.

I purchased a Premium Conversion Kit for my wife's 2020 GX 460. The install was super easy with the provided video instructions and provided paper instructions that were provided with the kit. The quality of this premium conversion kit is in my opinion 100 times better than the factory unit. The operation of the unit is seamless, and it connects to your phone every time. Customer support on Hamiltons products is probably one of the best I have ever witnessed. If you are thinking of buying this unit for your vehicle, I would not hesitate.

The installation went super smooth. The installation video is the key. Just follow that and you’ll be fine. It took under 4 hours from start to connected to CarPlay.
I like the temperature controls better than the stock unit I think.
One thing that made me really happy was how well everything went back together. Nothing broke and the fit is about as good as it could be. I bet most people will think it’s the stock unit.
This upgrade will get me several more happy years with this vehicle. Worth every penny.
