Yes. You can use your factory radio channels and have CarPlay/Android Auto showing on your screen with the Hamilton Upgrade Kits with one important limitation: Please note that the factory radio channels are sealed channels. This means Siri cannot talk through these channels.
When you are streaming audio via CarPlay (e.g. Spotify, Apple Music, Sirius App, etc.), your music and Siri/Navigation will come out of your vehicle speakers mixed together.
However, while using the sealed factory radio channels, you will only be able to hear radio audio. System audio (Siri, navigation sounds, phone calls) cannot be mixed into the factory radio channels.
Note: You will not be able to use the AUX mode for any external media devices. The Hamilton Upgrade Kit consumes this audio input for CarPlay/Android Auto.
This device will allow wireless and wired CarPlay and Android Auto on your factory screen. It will not allow streaming functionality on your screen.
Installed the Hamilton CarPlay upgrade kit in my 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser and it went very smoothly..well, I did lose one bolt but that's my fault. Should note that some of the connector colors have changed since the installation video was made, but all the connections are just as described. Following installation a quick review of the set-up video helped speed-up the process of getting every thing working perfectly. (Don't forget to disable the OEM Bluetooth!). Overall the kit is good value for the price and definetely a major upgrade to a pre-CarPlay Land Cruiser. The best part is the clean appearance of the center dash unit with no phone holder or extra cables. BTW, installed the USB connector in the ash tray as suggested and it is perfect. Thanks for a great product and a speedy transaction.

Great upgrade for my 2011 Land Cruiser! Installation was straightforward, and having wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while keeping the factory screen makes the interior feel so much more modern. I love my 2009 land cruiser, but was jealous of newer cars having CarPlay and updated navigation, and this Hamilton product brings my car up to date. it works as desired. Happy.
Works great! Super easy to install. Only item that wasn't clear was where to install the module in a 2010 LC 200 but there was a nice little pocket of the driver side of the opening it fit into without issue.

Install worked very well. You need to understand you are adding new technology into an older SUV so there are 3 steps you need to make sure are set up for daily function, bluetooth to both Hamilton and Toyota as well as stereo set to bluetooth but once you have the sorted it works great. Wish I would have done it sooner. Overall the install went easier than expected.

I finally had time in my garage to install the Hamilton CarPlay adapter in to my 2014 LandCruiser. Took my time reading through the instructions on-line and watching the 20 minute video of how to remove panels and plugs, attach the adapter, and testing it before putting it back together. It mostly worked but could not hear sound. Checked all of the connections and still no sound. Called tech support and Sean was amazing! He forwarded me additional instructions for my particular year LandCruiser. Then told me to hold down the talk button on the steering wheel to toggle back to the factory stereo to allow Bluetooth to the factory system instead of the Hamilton system, then connect to both the factory as well as the Hamilton system, then toggle back to the Hamilton screen. Works perfectly and now I can continue to drive my beloved LandCruiser for years to come!! Worked so well that my friend just bought one for his Tacoma and will be getting it on Wednesday. Thank you Hamilton and Sean!!
So far I love this in my 2013 Toyota LC. It even makes the 13+ year old display technology look new again. This is an upgrade I definitely recommend.

I love my LC200 with almost 200k miles. There is just no comparable vehicle out there that I would replace it with, but the infotainment system is really dated and the factory bluetooth stream was getting increasingly buggy. Stumbled upon Hamilton’s upgrade and it’s amazing.
In terms of installation, I would mention that you don’t need to disconnect the start stop or drive mode connectors on the driver side metallic finish panel. Also, would be helpful to have more detailed instructions of how to stuff everything back into the space behind the head unit, which took me a while.
Swiping to different app icon pages within carplay requires a bit more effort than what we are used to because these oem screens probably calibrated for pointed pressing. Just requires a bit more finger pressure and swipe more slowly. You’ll get the hang of it.

The Hamilton upgrade kit worked perfectly for my Land Cruiser. The instructions were easy to follow. I highly recommend.
Straightforward installation as shown in the video on the website. Wiring was not the easiest to place in back of the unit, it took a bit of time and patience. However, this kit did upgrade the older head unit to have wireless CarPlay capabilities, and the connection has worked without any issues since installation. A worthy investment until a suitable aftermarket replacement head unit is available.
A great solution to the outdated radio in my Land Cruiser. Installation was straightforward once I actually followed the instructions. I needed some help from their tech support to point me in the right direction but they were very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful.
I can't fault the operation of the unit, very happy to keep the stock functionality and add Android Auto.

good, responsive. The problems I had were probably more related to the apps that the CarPlay tried to pull in rather than the actual hardware. But it was hard to know when took a while to figure that out. Careful which apps you allow CarPlay to use. Minimize the numbers.
Very happy with the whole process. Product was received in Iceland a few days after I ordered. Installation in my 2008 Land Cruiser 200 was straightforward (thanks to the video and the drawings that came).
After the installation everything worked as promised and I now have working Apple carplay in my 17 year old Land Cruiser. Love it!

I have had the unit for 3-4 months now and I have only good experience. The install video was very good and helpful. I installed the kit myself. Not hard if you follow the instructions. The customer service is excellent! Quick and useful response. I had a slight issue with bluetooth call quality, but that was quickly sorted by applying the correct settings. Recommending this unit - it really does what it says. Carplay is fantastic, and I retain the OEM look and functions. No issues to switch back and forth between OEM and Hamilton and all the controls and buttons work as they should.

At first I was bit skeptical about Hamilton’s claims for this upgrade for my 07 Land Cruiser. I installed the unit myself. After just a bit of drama (all on me), things worked out well. In short, the company’s claims are accurate. My 07 LC now has 2025 Car Play capabilities. Thanks.
Have a 2013 with stock navigation. Over the years Toyota has slowly stopped supporting the radio “Apps” and the last map update was around 2018. With my model LC, a Satellite Subscription for real-time traffic updates is required which is disappointing as that’s all I used satellite for.
With this little piece of hardware tucked away behind the touch screen, I keep all the functionality of my stock LC200 system and get to use apple Carplay with all the “apps”.
I appreciate using CarPlay to call by pressing the “talk” button on the steering wheel— and it’s much faster and intuitive than before thanks to Siri. Technology has come a long way in 12 years. I compared making a call using the original Toyota system of around 30 seconds (when it actually understands who you want to call) to CarPlay of around only 5 seconds. Beats it hand down — literally :)
Maps function is also a big winner with me using either Waze or Apple Maps. So much better (and safer) to see traffic and navigation clearly and also while reporting a hazard or traffic in the app.
Music is a bonus for sure (instead of using BT Music on Toyota Tab). Very clean and easy to use.
Overall I am very satisfied with the product. When I compared the $200 to purchase an “updated” navigation from Toyota that is already out of date; the Hamilton made sense for me. Install was very easy (my son helped and the two extra hands was appreciated).
The optional USB port I left behind the air vent. If I find a mod to substitute it for one of the cigarette lighter power adapters in the future I will go back in and change it out.
Oh one last thing— I rarely leave product reviews. I was on the fence on upgrading my Land Cruiser stock radio for several years but didn’t want to remove (and store) the stock radio/screen. With this little device, I kept everything original and now get CarPlay and Siri. For others like me, I wanted to let them know it’ was worth it.
