Does this device support wired and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto? Can I still access the OEM system?
Yes, it does support wireless and wired CarPlay and Android Auto. At any time, you can long hold the Menu button in front of your mouse to access the OEM system.
Is this a replacement touchscreen? What is the difference in the Upgrade Kit and Conversion Kit?
If you are looking for a replacement touchscreen that also has the capability to load external apps, checkout our 2016-2021 Lexus LX Conversion Kits. Hamilton Conversion Kits are replacement screens whereas Upgrade Kits add technology to the original screen. The Conversion Kit supports things like streaming and 4G. The Upgrade Kit is a straightforward way to add CarPlay and Android Auto.
Can I use FM, XM, or AM radio while CarPlay/Android Auto is showing on the screen? Are all factory audio channels still available?
Yes. You can use your factory radio channels and have CarPlay/Android Auto showing on your screen with the Hamilton Upgrade Kits with one important limitation: Please note that the factory radio channels are sealed channels. This means Siri cannot talk through these channels.
When you are streaming audio via CarPlay (e.g. Spotify, Apple Music, Sirius App, etc.), your music and Siri/Navigation will come out of your vehicle speakers mixed together.
However, while using the sealed factory radio channels, you will only be able to hear radio audio. System audio (Siri, navigation sounds, phone calls) cannot be mixed into the factory radio channels.
Note: You will not be able to use the AUX mode for any external media devices liked DACs or MP3 players. The Hamilton Upgrade Kit consumes this audio input for CarPlay/Android Auto.
Can you confirm the 360 and reverse page shows identically to the OEM screen?
The Hamilton Upgrade Kit for your 2016-2021 retains your original 360 reverse system, all parking sensors, and other original safety features. The screen will appear exactly like it did from the factory when you are reversing/in the parking sequence. Your original radio will show during the reverse/parking sequence, exactly as it did from the factory.
Note, with the Hamilton Conversion Kit (complete touchscreen screen replacement, the information pane on the right-side of the factory reverse system will not appear. Of course when you switch back to the OEM side, all your information remains the exact same. However, on the Hamilton Conversion Kit only you will not be able to see your navigation/now playing/info pane while in reverse/parking sequence.
